Where new tools are part of our process, we say so - plainly, on the release. Here's our policy.
Augmentation, not authorship.
On some OFP Records records, we use generative AI tools as part of the production workflow - for things like sound design, vocal layers, and arrangement. The tools don’t replace artists, songwriters, producers, or mix engineers. They’re instruments we direct.
Every track is human-conceived, human-shaped, and human-finalized. Mixing and mastering are always done by people. The direction, the lyrics, and the call on what ships - all human.
Lines we won’t cross.
We do not use AI to clone the voice or likeness of a real person without consent. We do not use AI to generate or imitate the vocal performance of any signed artist on another label.
We do not pass AI-augmented work off as fully human. Where AI is a meaningful contributor to a recording, we say so on that recording’s release page and in the DDEX-aligned metadata we deliver to streaming services.
We do not apply this policy retroactively - every release is disclosed at the level relevant to its actual production.
On the record, by the standard.
When AI tools are part of a recording, we tag that recording with the DDEX-aligned AI usage metadata at delivery - so distributors, streaming platforms, and listeners can see it the same way we do.
Levels we use on releases:
- AI-Assisted - AI used in limited support roles (e.g., reference generation, prompt-based brainstorming). The released audio is human-played and human-recorded.
- AI-Augmented - AI is a meaningful contributor to the released audio (e.g., generative vocals or instruments rendered in the final master). Disclosed per release.
- Human-Only - no generative AI in the workflow.
Disclosed where it matters.
The level above is set per release, not per artist - it lives on each release page and in the metadata we deliver. When the first OFP Records releases drop, you’ll see the disclosure right alongside the credits.
No release ships without it.
